Meet Dr. Ravi Tej UMMETHALA
Hello!
Born and raised in Hyderabad and having travelled extensively all over the world for study, work and pleasure, I am fortunate to have experienced various cultures, people and ways of living. I currently live in Sainikpuri, Secunderabad with my loving parents Lt Col U.S. Rao and Mrs. Rukmini, Dear wife Shilpa and adorable kids Aakash and Rishabh (not to forget my pets Oscar and Thor).
We love staying active and exploring the city whether we are trying out a new restaurant, enjoying a movie or meeting family and friends. My favorite part of Sainikpuri, Secunderabad is the mixed culture of people of Defense background and local Hyderabadis. We love bumping into friends and family on the street, so make sure you say hello if you see me around!

I am passionate about creating beautiful, bright, healthy smiles, and I genuinely love getting to know the person behind that smile (YOU!).
It is important to me to develop relationships with my patients, their families, and the community as a whole. I want to hear about your interests, latest trip or achievement, so please don’t be surprised if I start asking you lot of questions. This will only help me in understanding your dental needs serving you better.
The best part about orthodontics is that it allows me to blend my academic and scientific interests with my strong esthetic eye and creativity.
A commitment to EDUCATION
I obtained my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Orthodontics from the prestigious SDM College of Dental Sciences, Dharwad. Training under esteemed professors and in a hospital-based program, I gained excellent clinical experience in treating a wide range of patients including orthognathic surgical cases, as well as the management of cleft palate patients.
I am trained in a number of treatment philosophies, and enjoy exploring new technologies in orthodontics, including Damon® braces, lingual braces, and Invisalign®. I received a solid foundation for my orthodontic training which enabled me to clear the exam and become a member of Royal college of Surgeons, Edinburgh, U.K.
Upon completion of dental school, I moved to Muscat, Oman where I completed my 15 yrs service at The Gulf Orthodontic Center as a fulltime consultant. Presently I opened a new practice in Sainikpuri but continue to be a visiting consultant abroad.
